Catalyst 10.10 Is Looking Good

The 4870×2 issue is gone, everything seems to work normally. There’s even a boost in FC2 dx10, maybe other dx10 titles have improved as well.

Yu hu. I was waiting for such a good new. I have a 4870×2 and i was stuck with the 10.5a drivers.
Personally i will wait a little for more feedback.
They have to try more to see if they are clean at all.
@jony, the x2 issue is good, try them if you need CF in some of the recent games
otherwise, some people still say 10.5 or 10.4 is the best for BFBC2 if you play that
Have you tested Crysis ( havent tested Wawrhead )with your 4870X2 on 10.10c?
Only one core is active – performance wise
@ust i’m on WHQL only, which mode for crysis? (32/64bit, dx9/10)
64bit Dx10 highest settings -I’ll try out 10.10 then.
@ust i just tried warhead in 32/64/dx9/dx10, & i had a messenger open that kicked me out of fullscreen during dx10 64bit, lost the 2nd core like you mentioned, couldnt get it back with alt+tab/vsync/fullscreen toggling, had to reopen game
dx10 32bit seems smoothest, dx9 has a little higher fps but more unstable, 32bit dx9 unplayable stutter
also fraps video recording works really nice in dx10, almost no fps drop, while dx9 is like 25% speed
i’m 1920×1200, enthusiast, noAA, with vsync (the tearing makes it pretty nasty without, at any fps)
Hmm okay. Could you try Crysis original? Or do you only have Warhead installed?
So basically both cores on your 4870X2 are enabled and run at full speed, at start?
@ust warhead seems fine yes (other than alt tab issues), have you tried the other combos of 32/64/dx9/dx10? are you still on 10.10c or 10.10 WHQL?
I’m on 10.10 WHQL now – but I only have Crysis installed not warhead so I can’t test Warhead.
i’ve found out that dx10 64bit exe doesn’t have crossfire enabled. It makes no difference if I disable catalyst A.I in the CCC.
Dx10 32 get’s between 25-35% FPS increase when having Cat. A.I enabled ( e.i. “standard” )
There’s definitely somthing sketchy going on with crossfire/multi GPU when it comes to Crysis original ( again NOT Warhead. I haven’t tested that game)
Could you confirm?
i’d have to install & patch it, have you seen any other reports on forums & stuff? stick to 32bit for now, 64 is tacked on anyway
also you have the latest CAP? http://www.rage3d.com/cap/ / http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/crossfirex-app-profiles.aspx
I see.
Yes latest application profiles are installed.
What do you mean by “tacked on anyway” ?
Thanks for the replies.
it’s just not utilizing any more features or performance gains over 32bit, they pretty much just recompiled into 64bit without optimizing or improving
have you reported feedback? http://www.amd.com/us/CatalystCrewSurvey
you could also start a thread, or i could http://www.rage3d.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=59
